Question:  If someone is retiring from Fed Service but is taking a job somewhere else, they are still eligible to file a claim correct ?

Answer:  They will need to buy the policy and it go into effect before they retire.

The disability is portable. But Allstate will need to be notified of their new income amount to make sure they qualify for the benefit they purchased.

This is common, but in most cases, the new job comes with less income. So there is a chance they are over insured.

Question: Does the Insured have to use up their sick leave before filing a Disability Claim with Allstate….

Answer: No … they do not have to use their sick leave first…… it pays in addition to any sick leave they have
